What pressure for my electric scooter?
Electric scooter tire pressure depends on three factors: wheel size, your weight, and tire type (inner tube or tubeless). Unlike bicycles, scooter tires are small and require relatively high pressures (2.5 to 4.5 bar / 36 to 65 PSI).
Manufacturer recommended pressures
For a 75 kg (165 lbs) rider, here are the values recommended by major manufacturers. Our calculator then applies an adjustment of ±0.1 bar per 10 kg, as recommended by Xiaomi and Ninebot.
| Model | Front | Rear |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi M365 (8.5") | 2.7 bar / 39 PSI | 3.0 bar / 44 PSI |
| Xiaomi Scooter 4 (10") | 3.0 bar / 44 PSI | 3.4 bar / 49 PSI |
| Ninebot G30 TL (10") | 3.1 bar / 45 PSI | 3.4 bar / 49 PSI |
| Dualtron (11") | 3.5 bar / 51 PSI | 3.8 bar / 55 PSI |
Values for a 75 kg rider. Adjust ±0.1 bar per 10 kg.
Why proper inflation matters
Under-inflated tires are the #1 cause of punctures on electric scooters. The tire pinches between the ground and the rim on every curb. Proper inflation also saves battery — lower rolling resistance means more range.
