How to calculate bike tire pressure?
Tire pressure is one of the most important settings on a bicycle. Too high and you lose comfort and grip. Too low and you increase puncture risk and rolling resistance.
Several factors influence the ideal pressure: tire width (wider tires need less pressure), rider weight (heavier riders need more), weather conditions (lower pressure in rain for better grip), and mounting type (tubeless allows about 10% less pressure).
Road bike vs MTB
A 25mm road tire typically runs between 4 and 6 bar (55-85 PSI), while a 2.2-inch MTB tire runs around 1.5 to 2.5 bar (22-36 PSI). Gravel sits in between. Our calculator provides different front/rear pressures since the rear wheel carries about 52% of the weight.
